On August 12th 2010, four Mozambican MA students graduated from the University of Bergen, two with Master’s Degrees in Physical Oceanography and two with Master’s Degrees in Chemical Oceanography.

Norway’s Minister of Environment and International Development, Erik Solheim, visited Mozambique on 1 - 3 March as part of a journey that also included Malawi. During his visit, Mr. Solheim held political talks with President Armando Emilio Guebuza and met with several government ministers. He also visited Beira, Nampula and Lichinga where he met with provincial governors as well as with representatives of civil society and the local business community.

The security situation in Maputo is still unpredictable. The Embassy advices people to avoid movement in affected areas and stay inside if living in an affected area. Riots have spread to some towns and areas in other provinces, including Chimoio. The Embassy is not able to provide a complete picture, as the situation changes rapidly. Please follow news bulletins on TV/radio for updates.
