Support is given to the to Infrastructure Project Preparation Facility (IPPF) of The New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD), which is hosted by The African Development Bank (AfDB). This support contributes to regional integration and socio-economic development by making the NEPAD IPPF a major project preparation facility in Africa for regional infrastructure projects and programs.

It is planned to support the SADC Basic Energy Conservation Programme, which aims at contributing towards a better quality of life for poor people through access to affordable, reliable and sustainable energy. Further it is planned to support the energy interconnection between Mozambique and Malawi through cooperation with the World Bank.
