Support to KPMG Business Confidence Index Research

Last updated: 31/08/2009 // Launched in 1998, the KPMG index derives from an annual questionnaire which is circulated and completed by a representative sample of businesses operating in Mozambique, encompassing progressively more sectors and companies.

The study started covering Maputo only and is gradually covering all provinces. Current financers of the initiative include the Swiss, Irish, and the German Cooperation.  This support intends to enable the company to cover four remaining provinces namely Gaza Tete, Zambézia and Cabo Delgado. The main objectives are to:

  • Measure the level of business confidence;
  • Contribute to an increased transparency in Mozambique’s business environment;
  • Serve as an instrument that provides the Government and other interested bodies with information in respect to the business community perception;

The annual (launching) event also serves as a forum for business community to gather and discuss issues related to the business environment. The launching event is normally attende by high level Government Officials which provides an excellent opportunity for high level interaction between public and private sector actors.
