Last updated: 31/08/2009 //
GAPI is a partly private, partly publically owned financial institution providing financial services to small and medium size enterprises. This programme aims at professionalising GAPI.
Specifically it aims to contribute to a more inclusive, community-driven decentralized financial sector, enhance the bankability of the rural population and support micro, small and medium enterprises via:
- Creation and management of various risk-mitigation mechanisms and instruments
- Enhanced and customized business development services (BDS) to the members of the agricultural value chains in order to improve the demand for rural financial services, thus enhancing the bankability of economic actors at various levels of the value chain.
- Institutional development and support of community-based local financial institutions and microfinance providers in order to improve the supply-side of the financial services, thus expanding the outreach throughout rural Mozambique.
The respective financing contract was signed on the 26 August 2009, covering a three year period 2009-2011.
