In October 2009, the Government of Mozambique and the Government of Norway renewed their cooperation in the area of fisheries for the period 2009-13, having established a Common Fund where Iceland is also a partner.
The contribution by Norway amounting to 150 million NOK will be used for the reinforcement of the capacity and competence of the Fisheries Administration in the domain of investigation, fisheries management, aquaculture, artisanal fisheries, quality control and training as well as contributing towards the improvement of the conditions of the fishing communities and the enhancement of small and medium scale enterprises.
